NRK KARATE COVID-19 RESPONSE 3-17-2020

COVID-19  Update

March 17, 2020

Dear Dojo Family,
It is with mixed emotion that we inform you that we have decided to close the Dojo starting tomorrow, March 18th.  This decision was not an easy one to make. We took all the necessary precautions – additional sanitation, spacing students out on the mats, hand washing at the beginning of each class, however, as COVID-19 continues to develop rapidly, we believe that temporarily closing the Dojo is the best thing to do to protect our students. Currently, we plan to reopen on Wednesday, April 1, 2020.  However, we will continue to monitor the situation, and provide updates via email and social media.
To help deal with this transition, the dojo will be offering on-line instructional videos via private links to all students during our closure.  Under this format, class instruction would be offered via prerecorded and live-streamed video.  Students and families will have provisions for asking questions and receiving direct feedback from Renshi.
Lastly, all auto-payment accounts will automatically be placed on a temporary hold during this closure.

NRK Booster Club – Pancake Breakfast Postponed

Given the changing policies concerning public gatherings, the NRK Competition Team Booster Club will postpone the Applebee’s Breakfast scheduled for this Sunday, March 22nd. The tentative new date for the event is May 24th and is subject to safety protocols in place by that time.
We’re asking all Competition Team members who sold tickets, to persons outside of the dojo, to please reach out and inform them of the postponement.  We will also post an announcement on the NRK Karate website and social media pages.
Let’s all stay calm and healthy, as we persevere through these unforeseen times.  We are not defined by who we are in times of crisis.  We are defined by who we are in times of adversity.
~ Be safe and keep training!
